Is the educational sistem failing?
The 4 reasons that I consider importants + storytelling
In this post you will discover my reasons of why the educational sistem is going to worst, from elementary to highschool.
Reason nº1. Digital, or by hand?
The schools prefer that students do the writing and the homework in the computer than in the notebook.
How does this affect the perfomance of the students?
Well, studies have shown that writing in the computer is less efective than writing by hand. Because when you write by hand there is more mind connection than if you write on the computer, so the mind remembers more if you commit to paper.
I think we should conserve the old way of teaching. You learn faster, more effectively and you DON’T NEED internet connection.
And obviousley, if the students have wi-fi they can choose not pay attention to the class, what most students do, and do what everything they want in the computer. Of course this depends on the willpower the person has, but I think that now few students get to that level.

Reason nº2. The teachers.
Here is where most problems come, the teachers.
Although they are all not bad, most of them are thinking more about the weekend than on their day to day job.
How does this affect students?
For me, the motives that separate a good teacher from a bad one are:
Can’t teach well: The peoples don’t understand, or the teacher needs experience.
Doesn’t ask for the homework that he/she demanded the students: this desmotivates the bright students, as they work like dogs for nothing.
Doesn’t make clear the rules in the class: this causes a riot, and desorder in the class, the peoples can’t work well.
Misses classes: if a teacher misses classes, it isn’t a good sign for the future of the student, although some of them are happy. That means, that the teacher isn’t commited enough for his work.
Is “too good”: The mission of the teacher is that the students learn. If he doesn’t do exams, or tests the knowledge of the docents by some way. Then, I consider the teacher a bad one. Teachers have to put grades and take them from somewhere, and is not all from the behavior or the homework. Man, you have to test your graduates.

Reason nº3. The topics and exams.
The educational department is choosing unnecessary subjects, and elaborating the wrong exams.
Wich school subjects are nedeed?
A very interesting topic that I consider is financial education (stock market, entrepreneur, how to sell…), and probably is never going to be considered an option as a school topic.
We should think about including school topics like programming. That is useful tool that can open a lot of doors.
And mabye, I could throw in some public speching, but only 30 minutes a week.
Why the exams?
Simply because now schools adapt to the worst students, and they make low level exams, what causes no learning, and even fustration. What they should do is first to stick to the syllabus no matter what, and if you have to moderate the syllabus it has to be always more difficult, not easier. And second make good quality exams, and not the garabage that they give now.
